Studio Rua was born out of my combined love of jewellery, ancient cultures and traditional craftsmanship.

As a child I was fascinated with history, especially the ancient civillisations of Egypt and closer to home the traditional folk tales and ancient monuments of the British Isles. I always dreamed of being an archaeologist one day.

I grew up surrounded by women who collected, wore and still wear beautiful jewellery. My mother has always visited antique fairs and I have fond memories of looking through her many jewellery boxes for my favourite pieces when I was little. My grandmother was amongst other things an expert jewellery repairer and I am grateful to have inherited some of her tools and antique findings.

After graduating from Central Saint Martins with a degree in fashion design and printed textiles, my career has combined working in both Paris and London. With a background of over ten years working in the fashion industry I decided I wanted to channel these skills into creating a range of jewellery which would be uniquely mine.

My aim with Studio Rua is to create a collection of classic 'go-to' pieces which interpret the traditions and spirit of ancient jewellery in a playful and contemporary way.

I am also co-fouder of Charm Vintage Jewels, a thoughtfully curated selection of handpicked vintage jewellery which is available to purchase through Instagram.

I would love to discuss any personal commission requests you might have, please do get in touch via my contact page.
