THYME pendant

from £100.00

The design for the THYME pendant was inspired by the traditional folk ballad ‘Let No Man Steal Your Thyme’, which is said to be traced back to the late 1600’s. It warns young lovers against the dangers of false or unfaithful partners, using botanical and other symbolic references.

The supposed original authoress of the ballad was driven to write it “undone by the extravagance, and disgraced by the vices of her husband,”.

A variant or off-shoot of this song, ‘The Seeds Of Love’ was the first know ballad collected by famous folk champion Cecil Sharp.

Each pendant is struck from a master mould, hence the design will be exactly as the photos shown.

The pendant measures 2.2cm wide and 2.2cm high, not including the attached bail or jump ring.

Each eco silver pendant will come with a full UK hallmark from The Assay Office.

You have the option of buying the pendant alone, or with a red cord to form a full necklace. The cord will be left untied so you can choose how long to wear it. It will come as cord only, with no fasteners and would need to be tied at the neck and worn long to fit over the head.
