EARTH pendant

from £100.00

The design for the EARTH pendants were inspired by a 17th century tin-glazed earthenware plate, bearing the motto ‘You And I Are Earth, 1661’.

The plate was appropriately excavated from a London sewer and now resides in The Museum of London. A plate made from earth, returned back to the earth and made to remind us all of our own fleeting mortality.

I love the direct simplicity of the motto, it reminds me of my favourite medieval posey rings, with their earthy connections and honest decelerations of love.

The unchanged motto is either represented in a square or ingot design, with raised lettering and small foliate details.

The measurements of the square pendant are: 3cm wide x 3.2cm high including the integral bail.

The measurements of the ingot pendant are: 1.9cm wide x 4.5cm high, including the integral bail.

Each pendant is struck from a master mould, hence the design will be exactly as the photos shown.

Each eco silver pendant will come with a full UK hallmark from The Assay Office.

You have the option of buying the pendant alone, or with a red cord to form a full necklace. The cord will be left untied so you can choose how long to wear it. It will come as cord only, with no fasteners and would need to be tied at the neck and worn long to fit over the head.
