EARTH ring

from £140.00

The design for the EARTH ring was inspired by a 17th century tin-glazed earthenware plate, bearing the motto ‘You And I Are Earth, 1661’.

The plate was appropriately excavated from a London sewer and now resides in The Museum of London. A plate made from earth, returned back to the earth and made to remind us all of our own fleeting mortality.

I love the direct simplicity of the motto, it reminds me of my favourite medieval posey rings, with their earthy connections and honest decelerations of love.

The unchanged motto runs around the whole of the outer band, with raised lettering and a small foliate design at the end.

The bronze and eco silver versions have a chunkier design, the 9ct gold is more delicate - see listing photos for more details showing the variations.

The eco silver comes with an oxidised finish which picks out the lettering and detail wonderfully.

The approx depth of the bronze and eco silver bands are 0.7cm. The approx width of the 9ct gold band is 0.5cm.

Each eco silver and 9ct gold ring will come with a full UK hallmark from The Assay Office.

Due to the nature of the design, the smallest size this ring can be made with all lettering and detail included is a UK size L, and there largest a size P.

Please allow an approx 6 week wait from ordering to delivery for this style, as each one is made to order.
