HAGSTONE Pendant Mini

from £85.00

A 'Hagstone' or 'Holey Stone' is a naturally occurring rock or stone which has a hole running through it. This can be caused by wear and age. Hagstones are often found on beaches, rivers or other places with running water.

Thy have long been seen as 'lucky' and are often strung up outside houses in a protective fashion or worn in a talismanic way as a necklace. They are said to be a 'key' to see into other worlds, and some say they have protective and healing powers.

I collected this small found HAGSTONE whilst mudlarking on the foreshore of ancient tidal River Thames. When cast in metal it has a truly sculptural feel and is incredibly tactile to hold. It hs a natural, almost perfect hexagon shape. It makes a beautiful talisman, strung on a leather cord as shown or on your own chain.

The size of it is 1.5cm wide x 1.4cm high. Central hole inner diameter is 0.4cm.

You can compare the sizes of the 2 different HAGSTONE's in the below pictures.

This listing is for the SMALLER of the 2 sizes - the ‘mini’.

They come in bronze or Eco silver as pendants only, or with a long leather thong.

Each sterling silver HAGSTONE comes with a full UK hallmark from The Assay Office.
